March 6, 2017. Bonus day on Lake Norman

LOCATION:  House-sitting in Davidson, North Carolina on Lake Norman

WEATHER:  Cool.  Highs in 50s

Thinking that the homeowners would return this evening, we spent several hours cleaning and moving our stuff out.  Then, we heard from the homeowners saying that they would be returning one day later.  Yeah!  This gives us an extra day here to enjoy the lake.

George needed to return to the optical store to get his new glasses realigned.  While we were there, in Mooresville, we had lunch at a local pub.  We were pleasantly surprised at the great beer selection.  They give customers an ipad to look up their selection.  Each one has a page describing it.  You can bookmark your favorites, then return to them once you have made your selection.  With taps changing daily, this is a great way to keep up with everything.  We shared some chicken wings, listed on the menu as having won a wing contest in North Carolina.

Back home, we played with the cats.  I've never seen cats that love to eat as much as they do.  About an hour before each feeding, they start whining, sometimes nipping my toes, and jumping on our laps, as a way to communicate that they want to be fed.

Now that we know the end date of this housesit, we made arrangements for the next few days.  We will go to the North Carolina beach for a night, visit Research Triangle near Raleigh another night, and then visit George's sister Judy and her husband Dan in Virginia.  From there, we will return to Charlotte to fly out to Texas.

DINNER:  Meatloaf, which I haven't prepared in ages.  Baked potato as a side.  Very good.
