March 11, 2017. Last day in North Carolina

LOCATION:  Charlotte, North Carolina airport hotel

WEATHER:  Cool.  Highs in 40s

We said good-bye to George's sister Judy and husband Dan in Lynchburg, VA and drove about 3 hours south to Winston-Salem.  We drove through our namesake town, Reidsville, ideally situated right next to the town of Eden!

As we did yesterday, we passed by old tobacco farms and tidy brick homes.  We went through Danville, home of the last Confederate capital. Conference flags are still proudly flown.

We are storing the Airstream and pick-up at George's brother's house for the next two months while we are abroad.  We packed our bags for our next leg of the trip and reorganized the Airstream and pick-up.  Lots to do! George's sister Janet kindly drove us 1.5 hours to the Charlotte, NC airport.  After settling in the bargain-basement motel, we walked across the highway to a Mexican restaurant.  It was absolutely packed.  A real local hangout.  Even though we shared a meal, we were uncomfortably full afterwards.  We had chips with guacamole and tacos with grilled beef.  Muy rico!

We programmed our alarm clocks with Daylight Savings Time with an early-morning wake-up.
