February 9, 2017. Paradise on St. George Island

CAMPGROUND:  Second night at St. George Island State Park

LOCATION:  St. George Island, Florida

WEATHER:  Very nice.  Windy.  Highs in 60s

We took a long walk on the beach.  Next to our campground is a pond with this warning....

Next to the pond was a heron just waiting for a fish to catch.

This is bird season here. There are many beautiful birds, especially the cardinals that are flying around.  This bird was checking us out on our back window.  He pecked on the screen for about an hour.

We went to a beach restaurant for lunch.  We split an order of smoked tuna dip. Really good.  We were right on the beach.  Then, in order to get wifi, we returned to Paddy's Raw Bar.  Of course, we had to get another dozen on the half shell.   On the way home, we stopped at a seafood food truck and bought a pound of bay scallops for dinner.
Then, we spotted a neighborhood library exchange box and exchanged books.

Back at the campground, we dried everything out in the sunshine.  So nice, after a few days of rain...

DINNER:  Scallops sautéed in garlic butter in an iron skillet on the campfire.  Then, with added Parmesan, capers, and thin spaghetti.
