July 16, 2017. Last day housesitting in Bangkok

LOCATION:  Housesitting in Bangkok, Thailand

WEATHER:  Hot and humid.  High in 90s

We stayed home for most of the day, preparing for the return of the homeowner, and keeping an eye out on our cat Bronson.

The condo where we have been housesitting is very nice.

This is the view as we exit the front entrance...
And here is the view from the street.
In the late afternoon, we walked around our neighborhood, discovering yet another mall practically across the street from us that we hadn't seen before.  Once inside, it looks like an American mall (sadly) with Auntie Anne's pretzels and Dunkin' Doughnuts.  When you turn in a different direction, you think you are in Japan, with a myriad of Japanese restaurants - tempura, ramen, shabu shabu, sushi, teppanyaki and yakitori.  Amazing! Then, we strolled back toward our condo to a restaurant we have been eyeing.  It is the former residence of a king - probably a summer home.  It is now a beautiful European-menu restaurant.  We sat outside in the garden with a cocktail..

You can see our condo from below....

The gardens of the restaurant/former palace still keep the canal with white and black swans swimming happily.

Back in the condo, George and Bronson enjoy a bit of BBC TV.

DINNER:  Not too exciting.  Since it is our last meal here, I just cooked leftovers,  sadly  similar to last night's dinner - pasta with tomato meat sauce.

  1. Where is the general area you'll be in Singapore?

And be sure to check out the Hawker Centers, if you want to try legit SG food. Oh, and Tiger Beer, brewed locally there somewhere.
