January 7, 2017. On the road again!

LOCATION:  Picacho Peak, halfway between Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona

WEATHER:  Perfect for camping. Highs in 60s

CAMPGROUND:  Picacho Peak RV Park.  10 stars. Full hook-ups. Greeter met us at gate and helped us park.  Nice clubhouse with free books.  Free wifi.  Pool.  Cantina and band (although we didn't attend).  Super clean.  Great bathrooms. $23/night

We worked some more on the Airstream in the morning at the RV storage center in Phoenix.  While I had lunch with another former Mayo Clinic colleague, George grocery-shopped, and shopped and shopped.  After 2 hours, he had a carload full of groceries!  Never safe to let him go alone.

We hooked up, and hit the road.  It is a great feeling to be in the camper again.  Our destination was Picacho Peak, which we have been to two times before. It is nice to know good campgrounds to return to.

It is nestled under a mountain called Picacho Peak. Great for hiking.

We pulled out a "Happy Camper" bottle of wine to toast being back on the road.

Surprisingly, everything works fine in the kitchen.  The refrigerator is humming along, and the gas stovetop works well.

DINNER:  Rotisserie chicken with steamed cauliflower.

Even the TV still works!  We found a PBS station and watched British shows. Life is good!
