January 12, 2017. Desolate southern Arizona

CAMPGROUND:  Turquoise Valley Golf and RV Park.  Full hook-ups.  Nice showers and toilets.  Good laundry....with clothesline option.  Big sites.  Cable TV.  So-so wifi.  Really friendly staff.  9 out of 10 stars.  $26/night

LOCATION:  Naco, Arizona.  Near Bisbee, in south central AZ.  About 3 miles from Mexican border.

WEATHER:  Beautiful. Highs in 60s

We went out to breakfast with my high school friend and her husband.  A nice, old-fashioned kind of restaurant.  We took our time packing up and left around noon.  We got off the interstate and took the scenic route through the Santa Rita Mountains.  It is very barren.

Some of the high mountains surprisingly had snow on the peaks.

We are staying in Turquoise Valley RV Park, where we stayed 2 years ago.  It is a very nice park.  There is a golf course here, and many of the RVers are golfers staying here for the winter season.  The golf course has a bar and grill.  We like the proximity to Bisbee and Mexico, so we decided to return here for a few days.

While setting up, we met neighbors, including those in an Airstream next to us.  We went over to the golf course bar and talked with the bartender.  He is a Mexican, traveling across the border each day to work.  Very interesting.   DINNER:  Leftover steak that George had grilled a few nights ago, with potatoes and veg.
