LOCATION: On the ferry to Haida Gwaii, British Columbia
WEATHER: Occasional rain. High in upper 60s
It poured all night, so we awoke to a very muddy campground. We got ourselves organized. We parked our Airstream and truck in the RV parking area and Tony/Jenny parked their R-Pod camper next to it. We packed up Tony's car in preparation for our trip to Haida Gwaii.
All packed up, and checked out of the campground, we had the day to kill before our 10:00 PM ferry sailing. We started the day by taking a walk through a beautiful rainforest.
We saw unusual mushrooms, ferns, and other plants.
At the end of the 2-mile hike, we watched some rapids. These are unusual as they reverse direction consistent with the tide.
After a lunch of halibut tacos at a waterfront restaurant, we hiked around Prince Rupert, following the totem pole trail. We came across these secret gardens, very beautifully kept.
We did a little tourist shopping, then had a leisurely dinner. George and I shared a crab/clam/mussel/shrimp pasta dish. Very tasty
