December 7, 2016. Busy day in Ferndale

LOCATION:  Ferndale, Michigan

WEATHER:  Partly cloudy.  Highs in 40s

George took our daughter's car in to get an oil change, as part of helping them try to sell it.  Another check off the to-do list!

We took our daughter to a job interview at the nearby Detroit Zoo. They are looking for a chef to cater events there, like galas, fund-raisers, weddings, etc.

After that, we had lunch together at one of Ferndale's cool restaurants called The Local.

George had grilled cauliflower with interesting spices.
Meredith had a dish called "Tentacle" which was grilled octopus.
And, I had some soup.  All very interesting.   Back home, we did some yard work as the weather is supposed to turn colder.  Why do men seem to enjoy weed-whacking so much?

DINNER:  George grilled some chicken and Meredith made potato swirls and a salad.  She has lots of interesting cooking gadgets.

Meredith's husband flew back from New York.  He was supposed to land at about 5:00, but one of the plane's engines "died" in mid-flight, so they had an emergency landing in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  It took them a while to get another airplane in, so he finally landed about 10:00.  George picked him at the airport.
