October 19, 2016. Flying all over Canada

LOCATION:  Visiting my aunt and uncle in Grande Praire, Alberta, Canada.  About 300 miles NW of Edmonton WEATHER:  Warm in Minneapolis and Toronto.  Cold and snow in Edmonton and Grande Prairie   We awoke at 3:30 AM in order to catch an early morning flight.  People were already spilling out of the airport at 4:30 AM, in long lines.  Fortunately, we were given TSA pre-check and breezed right through.     Our route today first took us east from Minneapolis to Toronto.  We flew over Lake Michigan with the golden sunrise, then landed in Toronto where the trees were ablaze with fall color.

From there, we flew back northwest to Edmonton, a 3.5 hour flight.

The view from the airplane near Edmonton was quite different.....a landscape of whiteness.

We had lunch at a Wayne Gretzky restaurant in the Edmonton airport.

Then we boarded a tiny plane for our final leg to Grande Prairie.

After a brief one-hour flight, we descended to Grande Prairie.

Downtown Grande Praire is full of snow piles from last week's snow.

We spent a lovely evening with my aunt and uncle <other than the USA political debate>.

DINNER:  Aunt Martha made a delicious chicken dinner for us.

Early to bed, after a long day in the air.
