We stayed over night last night with our friends in their Palm Coast condo.
We awoke with the sun rising over the ocean. Beautiful views. We had a lovely breakfast on the deck.
After a walk on the beach, we drove about 20 miles to St. Augustine. We drove on the beach highway and saw lots of damage still remaining after the October hurricane. Our friends' car was destroyed. At the time of the hurricane, they were on their way home from their Nova Scotia home. The water surged about 4 feet and flooded the condo's underground garage where their other car was parked. We had lunch at a popular restaurant on the Intercoastal Waterway. It, too, sustained damage. We stopped by the RV park to show our friends our Airstream. Then, back to Palm Coast. We said good-bye to them and drove a bit farther south to Flagler Beach to meet up with some other friends. We met up with them at the Funky Pelican restaurant. We sat on the deck and chatted for hours. We had met one of the couples about 35 years ago when we were on a ferry between Morroco and Spain. We had a lot of catching up to do. Back at the RV park, the two of us relaxed after this whirlwind of visits with friends DINNER: Spaghetti with the remaining Louisiana andouille sausage and onions and mushrooms.
