November 9, 2016. Exploring Vancouver
LOCATION: Vancouver, British Columbia
WEATHER: Rain in AM. Partly sunny in PM. Highs in 50s
We bought a day pass for traveling around Vancouver...by bus, Sky Train and ferry. First we went to Stanley Park. It is supposedly one of the best city parks in the world. it was raining, so we ducked into the Vancouver Aquarium. It was very well-done. There were lots of jelly fish tanks.
Once the rain stopped, we continued walking through the park.
Then, around the park's perimeter with great views of the city.
From there, we took a bus to Granville Island, where there is a popular market under the bridge. We had to check out Granville Island Brewery, of course!
These tiny ferries transport passengers across the river.
Another bus back downtown.. We wanted to get our money's worth out of our all-day pass, so we took the sea bus across to North Vancouver. The skyline was lit up around sunset. Very pretty.
We walked around the Gastown section. This steam-powered clock is an icon for the district. We had dinner in a very popular Mexican restaurant, then returned to the Cajun resstaurant from last night to listen to a jazz group.
An early night, as we have to get up early tomorrow morning to catch the train to Portland.
