November 10, 2016. Travel day to Portland

LOCATION: Housesitting in Portland, Oregon WEATHER:  Beautiful.  Sunny. High about 60   We had to get up early to catch the Amtrak from Vancouver to Portland.  Our train left at 6:30 AM.  The route was very scenic, following the coast.

We got to sit on the coast side and watched the scenery go by.  

We stopped in Seattle, then arrived in Portland, only about an hour late, at 4:00.

Since we know our way around a bit, we caught the Max train and then the bus to the homeowners' house.  We have returned to a housesitting assignment we did last year.  We will be here for about 3 weeks, caring for a lovely cat named Lola.     We went out to dinner at a McMinneman's pub, sharing a gyro.  Great to catch up with our homeowner friends
