October 31, 2016. Halloween in Edmonton

LOCATION:  Edmonton, Alberta, Canada WEATHER:  Warmer. Highs in 40s. Cloudy   We drove past my grandparents' former house on our way from Redwater to Edmonton.  I remember visiting them several times when I was young.  It was always such an adventure to take the train from Iowa to Edmonton, then staying on their farm, collecting chicken eggs, helping in the garden

Our first stop in Edmonton was Whyte Avenue, a funky area of town where their film fringe festival is held.  We stopped at a microbrewery for a beer and lunch.

We stopped in another bar with 60 beers on tap.  We didn't have any, just looked.....

From there, we went into the downtown area.  We tried to visit the art gallery, but it was closed.  We still admired the building.
We visited our aunt and uncle's financial advisor, on the 23rd floor of a swanky bank building in order to get a great view of the city.
Many of the office workers were dressed up in Halloween costumes.

We found our motel and rested.  We ate dinner in the hotel....build your own pizza, soup and salad. Surprisingly good!  Early night as we have to get up early tomorrow AM to catch the train
