March 12, 2017. On to Texas!

LOCATION:  Mission, Texas

WEATHER:  Everything......Snow and 20s in Charlotte.  Frigid, 15, in Minneapolis, and 70 in Harlingen

 

We spent most of the day flying.  We had an early morning flight out of Charlotte.  George had shaved his head yesterday, so he won't have to bother with a haircut in the next two months.  Here is Mr. Baldy waiting for our flight... Even though this looks like a beer, it is a coffee.  

 

The departure was delayed about an hour as we waited in line to get de-iced. 

     For some reason, our route was via Minneapolis.  So, we spent a lot of time in the air.

We had a tight connection in Minneapolis, but made it ok. We arrived in Harlingen at about 4:00.  We drove to Mission, where our house is, about 45 minutes away.  We will wait until tomorrow to go check it out.

 

A huge blizzard is predicted for the NE USA this week.  We fly to Ireland on Wednesday via New Jersey.  I'm trying to contact the airline to see if we need to be re-routed.  Very frustrating to try to reach anyone.   

DINNER:  Disappointing meal at a nearby Chile's.  We split a hamburger in a noisy, impersonal atmosphere.  We should have known better.
