WEATHER: Snow! Much colder and windy. Highs in 30s
The snow started falling mid-morning. It was so pretty! I'm sure people won't be saying that after a few months of the white stuff. We watched cars slip by on the street in front of the house. The fish pond in their patio area was frozen over. Doesn't look like we will use the grill for awhile... Raja, the dog, likes playing in the snow and licking some up.
George and I bundled up and walked to town, about 1/2 mile away. It was colder than we had thought, and since the sidewalks were slippery, we couldn't walk very fast.
Once downtown, we returned to The Public House for lunch. We really like it here. We had a plate of their grilled, spicy carrots....out of this world! And shared a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. George chatted with the chef, who then gave us some of their carrot cake donuts as a gift. I don't like donuts, but felt compelled to eat one to be polite. Mistake. I felt sick all PM.
We walked around downtown. It was nice, with the snow and Christmas music wafting from speakers in the main areas. When we turned around to walk home, however, the gusts of snow and wind were in our face. George called Gautham who kindly picked us up after wiping the snow from the windshield.
In the evening, we went to a local bazaar where they had Christmas crafts and international food booths. We had some sushi from one, and Chinese food from another. A belly dancer, then Polynesian hula dancers performed as we ate. Not so great, but interesting. On our way home, we stopped at a brewery to share a taster tray. Very interesting beers. One had peanut butter in it. Ugh. Another had been aged in bourbon barrels. A third one was made with coffee beans from a popular coffee shop in town. Nothing very light!
