We did a lot of chores today. I raked a bunch of leaves, filling several bags. A good workout!
Then, we made dog biscuits out of salmon roe. Meredith and her husband Gautham went fishing two years ago and froze huge bags of salmon roe. They are now freezer-burned, so we slow-baked them until hard for dog treats. The downside is that they smelled really bad while baking. We had to open up all the windows and doors, so we were miserable in a stinky, cold house. Now finished, we advertised them on CraigsList. Hope they sell!
We drove Gautham to the airport for a flight to New York for business. I am doing the driving, and I become a nervous wreck in the traffic.
Meredith made pesto from herbs still growing in her garden. We froze up bunches of it to use throughout the winter. Here is Chef Meredith....
Ferndale is a cute town. I took a walk to downtown to do a little "sneaky" Christmas shopping.
DINNER: Meredith made a stew with ribs and herbs. It really turned out well.
