January 8, 2017. Happy campers!

LOCATION:  Picacho Peak, Arizona

WEATHER:  Beautiful.  Sunny.  Highs mid-70s

CAMPGROUND:  Second night at Picacho Peak RV Park

We watched a beautiful sunrise as the clouds over the mountains turned a pretty pink.

We spent the morning fiddling with the camper and truck, rearranging things and doing minor repairs.  In the afternoon, we walked around the RV Park.  It is huge!  We had stayed here before, but hadn't walked around.  In addition to a very spacious RV park, there are many modular homes that people buy,  generally living here just during the winter months.  Several were having 'open house" so we toured them.
Most are pretty small.  The used ones are $22K; new ones are $50K. Annual lot rent is $2500.  Owners have access to all the amenities of the park, such as the pool, fitness center, woodworking shop, activities, wifi, etc.  Utilities except electricity are included.  Pretty cheap living!   The park is nestled under Picacho Peak where hikers traditionally hike up to the top, then run barefoot down.  Not me!
The park is very well-maintained.  We stopped and talked with some of the residents.  They really like it.  It is just not our cup of tea.  I think we'd go bonkers after about a week.  We get "itchy feet"!

DINNER:  We used the park's BBQ grill and grilled some steak and bacon.  George had been yearning for a good grilled steak.  We had mushrooms and onions on the side, along with avocado slices.
