January 9, 2017. Acting like a snowbird

CAMPGROUND:  Voyager RV Resort.  Geared toward the winter snowbirds.  Like a city of 1600 homes/RVs.  All the amenities you can imagine.....several swimming pools, tennis courts, bocce ball courts, shuffleboard fields, golf course, etc etc.  Lots of arts and crafts activities.....stained glass making, silver jewelry making, woodworking, dance classes, exercise classes, etc etc.  It is a combination of park models and RVs.  Voted "best RV park in the nation".  $56/night.  At that price, we were surprised that the wifi is limited to certain hotspots.  I rate it 6/10 due to price.  Just not our cup of tea.

LOCATION:  Tucson, Arizona

WEATHER:  Beautiful.  Highs in 70s

We awoke at Picacho Peak to a beautiful sunrise....

We piddled around the RV park, then left at about 1:00.  We stopped at this hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant for a $4 lunch.  Very authentic and good.

We are in Tucson for a couple of reasons.  We have an appointment to get the car its 30,000 mile service.  Also, a high school friend is wintering in this Voyager RV Park and we thought it would be fun to see her and her husband for a few days.

The people in this RV park are super friendly.  Everyone has to wear name tags (probably because most of us are old and can't remember people's names!).  As we were setting up our camper, a neighbor ran over and invited us to a happy hour.  People rotate hosting a get-together three times a week.  We chatted with folks some.  Then, we met with my high school friend and her husband for drinks.  We watched the beautiful sunset together.

DINNER:  Leftover chicken with rice, tomatoes, green pepper and onions.
