WEATHER: Hot and humid. (Sorry to be a broken record)
We said good-bye to Bronson our cat in our Bangkok condo, and took Uber to the airport rail station. Even though the station is fairly well-known, the driver got lost. Could be because he had his cell phone propped up on his steering wheel and was watching a movie the whole way! :-). We finally found the station and took the airport link to the airport. What a madhouse! It must be one of the busiest and most chaotic airports in the world. There is a beautiful 3-headed gold-covered snake sculpture inside the terminal...
It took quite a while to go through Security and Immigration so we were glad we had given ourselves enough time. Then, a 2-hour flight almost due south to Bangkok on JetStar Airlines. This is a map of our Asian trip so far....
We arrived in Singapore and immediately sensed the difference between it and Bangkok. The airport was more orderly and quiet.Singapore is well-known for its strict laws (like no gum-chewing or spitting). We got a sense of this on the immigration form which in big print states: " Drug-trafficking will result in immediate death".
The information desk helped us call an Uber and took us directly to our house where we will be taking care of this cat for the next week.
The house is in the suburbs. It is a large home, beautifully decorated with Indian and SE Asian art.The owners are videographers, and travel around Asia making videos, mostly marketing campaigns. While we are here, they are going to an island in the Phillipines for a photo shoot. She is Australian; he is American.
We had a nice leisurely dinner on one of their outdoor terraces. We went to bed early in our nice bedroom...
Looks like a great place. I would say Bronson beats this cat on personality!
