WEATHER: Beautiful. Sunny. Highs in 60s
The homeowners introduced us to their neighbors from England, coincidently from a small town near one of our housesits in England last summer. Then, they left for their holidays, he to South Africa and she to Israel.
In order to help out, and to keep busy, we did some yard work around the pool. George did some pruning; I did some weeding.
Cute Gino, one of our charges, watched while we toiled! Another charge, little Luna, hunted for lizards scampering around the rose bushes. After a hard afternoon (not really), we had a glass of wine on the upstairs terrace.
There are two apartments that the homeowners rent out. We are in the downstairs one. Typically, guests rent the entire house, so some family members are down, and others have their privacy upstairs. Great set-up.While we were admiring the view from above, we spotted Ms. Foxy, a wild fox that the homeowners have tamed and feed every evening. On schedule, she approached their house, ready for dinner. We took her a chicken neck. She was shy around us, but I caught some photos.
Approaching the food....
Then, grabbing the bone...
Then, scampering off with it. Perhaps after a few days, she won't be so skittish around us.George grilled some vegetables and meat. The vegtables here are beautiful! He is holding a huge red bell pepper.....
We ejoyed this local wine with dinner. It is from a winery about 15 miles away. Delicious, and about $3/bottle.DINNER: Grilled beef parts (unknown) and grilled zucchini, red pepper and green onions.
